What makes L&L Inc. A Step Above the Rest
L&L Inc. brings a very different perspective to our clients as it relates to how projects are designed and executed. We combine our years of practical field experience with the knowledge and experience of our Architectural and Engineering partners to design and build the highest quality, lowest maintenance products available.
Design
• All submittals are generated in house utilizing SOP’s that have been adopted and improved over many years.
• L&L Inc has a very different relationship with our Architect and Engineers. We use our years of knowledge and SOP’s to design products that eliminate the design flaws that create maintenance issues and product failure.
a. We then submit our design / submittals to the Architect and Engineer to insure all of the details meet or exceed code and engineering standards.
b. Upon completion and approval by the Architect and Engineer they stamp and seal our drawings. We then review for changes and adopt revisions as our new SOP to reduce future Architectural and Engineering costs. This also speeds up the process.
c. Our prefabricated stair system has been designed, stamped, and sealed for use in PA, MD and VA requiring a minimal fee to stamp and seal our drawings specific to your project.
• All projects are designed to drain water, circulate air, and eliminate lamination of materials that cause oxidation and product failure. Where dissimilar materials are required to connect ( i.e. precast step to a steel stinger) a 1/8” neoprene spacer is installed. This also prevents the concrete from wearing at the finished surface as the structures move.
• When utilizing products made by a vendor, we are able to utilize vendor testing reports to keep Architectural and Engineering costs to a minimum.
Fabrication
• High Quality Craftsmanship with an unmatched level of attention to detail. We have in house weld procedures that were created specifically to meet Engineering requirements. Our Production Managers have many years of experience that is utilized to train our fabrication team and ensure quality control standards are met.
• All precast concrete is fabricated utilizing epoxy coated rebar. All threaded inserts are nylon.
Finishing
• All aluminum products are chemically washed then powder coated using AAMA 2604 Powder coat finishes. Outdoor resistance - 5 years in South Florida applications.
• All steel products are media blasted to remove mill scale and slag. 1 coat of epoxy primer and 1 coat of AAMA 2604 powder coat finish are applied. Outdoor resistance - 5 years in South Florida applications.
• RAL 2605 finishes are available upon request at an additional charge. Outdoor resistance - 10 years in South Florida applications. ( this is only recommended in costal applications )
• All products are installed utilizing Stainless steel hardware ( aluminum & steel applications ) or Galvanized structural hardware ( steel applications only )
• We have also developed care instructions for our products to help our clients maximize the life of their investment.

Industry Changes
Our industry is responsible for life safety concerns related to stairs and railings that keep your residents safe. These items have to comply with IBC (International Building Code), IRC (International Residential code) and ADA Code (American Disabilities Act Codes). As a result, State and Local Government agencies are requiring permits for all work related to this type of work including repairs to existing structures. This requirement helps to mitigate the liability taken on by Property Owners, and Management Companies. It also protects them from fines and liability caused by sub-standard work. Contractors that do not comply with the process could lose their license and/or be subject to fines.
